The case of Charlotte Figi and news in 2013 of the ability of a low-THC, full spectrum CBD extract (later branded as Charlotte’s Web) to quell her severe and rare form of epilepsy triggered the extraordinary and unprecedented growth of the CBD market. Despite Charlotte’s tragic passing aged 13 in April 2020 from pneumonia and suspected covid-19 (although testing negative), her legacy lives on.
