WHO’s monkey business
After 2 years with one infection, there’s a new monkey on the block. Another pathogen that provides the perfect opportunity to install global governance over health – and therefore humans.
Consider making yourself a cup of something nice – digest and share our lead piece. It’s a perfect excuse to re-invigorate fear over existential pathogenic threats, hide immune suppression caused by covid shots, and supercharge health authoritarianism. But not when you’re in the know.
Next up are snapshots from the remarkable, inaugural Better Way conference last weekend. It was a remarkable opportunity for so many of us who have devoted the majority of the last 2 plus years trying to restore sense in a topsy-turvy world to be in the same space, Bath. It is fitting that this small and beautiful city in Somerset has long been known for its healing waters — and now it’s healing conferences.
We couldn’t ignore that WHA75 (the 75th meeting of the World Health Assembly) is going on as I write this, determining the future of the International Health Regulations, and amendments to it. Our voices need to be heard – hence we point to a number of petitions and useful videos for sharing.
And then we have our covid unwrapped and natural news snippets.
Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity for thanking those of you who’ve joined us as Pathfinders, and especially those who’ve renewed their subscriptions, a year after we launched our membership option.
