The first relates to us taking responsibility for our health and benefiting from physical activity when combined with good nutrition. For many people this process is helped dramatically by setting goals. Having just come back from a few days at a cyclists’ training camp in Lanzarote, I’ve endeavoured to highlight 4 key points that many of the cyclists there found helpful. These apply equally to anyone embarking on preparation for an endurance challenge, be it a marathon, a long hike or bike ride, or simply being more active and making the most of the northern hemisphere spring — or the cooler climes of the Southern hemisphere autumn.

Based on inputs we received from leading experts in health and integrative medicine last year at a think tank we organised with our colleagues at the integrative cancer charity, Yes to Life, we wholeheartedly believe that governments are too embedded with Big Pharma and Big Food to create the kind of changes needed to deliver high quality healthcare to the masses. The push needs to come from the people, and that’s why we’re releasing a 2 minute video previewing some of the commentaries made in last year’s think tank. I’m not of course suggesting that two minutes reflects the duration of a politician’s attention span….
