Medicure in fight with British nutritional product lobbyist

A British natural nutritional product lobbyist has the Winnipeg biotech company Medicure Inc. in its cross hairs over the company’s efforts to have a vitamin component banned from sale by the dietary supplement industry.
Dr. Robert Verkerk, director of U.K.-based Alliance for Natural Health, said Medicure’s actions regarding a certain byproduct of vitamin B6 is the first-ever attempt by a pharmaceutical company to have the sale of a natural form of a vitamin banned.
