Our newsletter this week begins with a tribute to a titan of a British woman, who for over four decades, worked tirelessly to change the fortunes of couples, especially in the UK, wanting to conceive healthy babies. Nim Barnes, who described herself as “an ordinary woman and mother”, founded and lead the pre-conception care charity, Foresight, for 30 years. Nim sadly passed away last week in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
Nim, a devoted and long-time friend of ANH, was way ahead of her time, and recognised decades ago the key role played by the environment in fertility. Her book, ‘How to Conceive Healthy Babies, the Natural Way’, was published in 2014 and it will remain her legacy, allowing her work to live on. Whilst Foresight, the charity, is no longer in existence, there are many Foresight-trained practitioners continuing this invaluable work. Our deepest thanks and blessings for your onward journey, Nim, you have left a truly transformational legacy that is needed now more than ever.Â
Our lead article this week is centred on the work of another “ordinary person” (although, I don’t believe anyone is ordinary!), Mark Lintern, a graphic designer. As it happens, in both Nim and Mark’s case, this “ordinary” label points only to their lack of scientific or medical credentials, being a reminder of how society so often apportions value only to a person’s training, ignoring all sorts of other attributes they might have. Mark Lintern is one very courageous man. Not only has he survived his own cancer journey and is now in thriving health, he’s dedicated the last 8 years to studying why people develop cancer. The result is a new hypothesis for cancer causation that he offered to some of the leading lights in cancer treatment and research last Sunday 12th February in a special event hosted by integrative oncology charity, Yes To Life. ANH helped sponsor the event and Rob co-hosted. Check out Rob’s article to find out how Mark fared and whether he sunk or swam in front of the eminent panel of professionals. Spoiler alert… I love a happy ending!
The European regulators are at it again with wanting to bring in an arbitrary, minute level for vitamin B6 that will kneecap the real therapeutic or disease prevention value of the vitamin. Read our B6 piece to find out what European authorities are up to – and don’t think Brexit will protect us from similar plans in the UK! Rest assured, we won’t be taking any of this lying down.
Not to be missed is Rob Verkerk’s interview with Charles Kovess, host of the Mind Medicine Show, from Australian freedom radio station, TNT Radio. They pack an awful lot into 2-hours! Also, our regular News Beat and calendar of events. If you’re an ANH Member, please don’t miss our upcoming members-only webinar on 2nd March 2023, with biochemist and pharmacist, Phil Micans, on the the power of peptides – magical molecules with potent power for not only healing, but turning back our biological clocks.Â
We ask you to please share our articles with your own groups so we can all co-create a truly massive like-minded, heart-centred, nature-aligned, global community. We need to do this ‘old school’ these days to beat the censor bots and algorithms that don’t want to see us succeed 🤩.
In health, naturally
