The ‘sharks’ are out to get us

It’s only when you start to put it all together it doesn’t make sense. And it seems we’re not alone.

Cases go up, there’s a slight upturn in hospitalisations and deaths, but this is normal for this time of year. More and more countries re-enact measures that are polarising ever greater numbers and ripping societies apart. Governments that implement the harshest policies seem the least able to recognise the collateral damage being caused by their policies to health, livelihoods and futures. Ideas that were widely claimed as conspiracy theories a few months back, like compulsory surveillance apps or vaccine passports, are set to become realities in the near future. Governments use presentation techniques that overblow the severity of Covid-19. Scientists with views that are at odds with those of governments are shunned. Most of us bear witness to restrictions to freedom of expression the likes of which we never imagined were possible in the ‘free West’. Long-standing rights like the right to peaceful protest are invaded by riot police. Legislation (like the Coronavirus Act in England) is swept through parliament as if its members had forgotten they were elected as the people’s representatives. People are arrested illegally. Half a million sharks might become casualties of efforts to create novel Covid vaccines.

And there’s so much more. This week, we examine in words and video two of these points: the potential use of shark-derived squalene in Covid vaccines, as supported by the World Health Organization, and the interruption of last Saturday’s peaceful protest against government measures in London.

It feels like it’s going to get worse before it gets better. But that’s how most healing happens. Let’s be understanding towards others with differing views, recognising their perspectives and the limitations of the information they may have received. Let’s remain peaceful, whatever. Having said that, what we shouldn’t tolerate, in my view, is a political system within a so-called democracy that no longer appears to be acting in the interests of the people. We must surely do even more to make our voices, our words and our feelings known to those who seek to remove our freedoms, that include our right to natural health.

In health – naturally
