‘Balanced science, balanced diet’ campaign launch

If you ignore the emerging science on nutrition, lifestyle and health, you’ll be lucky to fare well in your later years. But if governments ignore it, that amounts to gross negligence, unnecessary early disease and death, and, most probably, collapsing healthcare systems.

That’s why we’ve launched today – with an initial focus on the UK – our ‘Balanced science, balanced diet’ campaign that’s calling on Jeremy Hunt, the NHS battle-scarred UK Secretary of State for Health and Duncan Selbie, chief executive of Public Health England, to urgently trigger a revision of the UK’s flawed Eatwell Guide. If you’re a UK resident, we implore you to communicate your concerns directly to Jeremy Hunt and Duncan Selbie by email or Twitter.

In our second piece, we’re calling on the European public to communicate with their MEPs to stop a misinformed piece of draft European law going any further. It’s the result of an unsavoury compromise between isolated scientists in EFSA, a profit-hungry diet industry and a genuine desire to deal with the spiralling diabetes and obesity crisis.
