The edifice that has propped up healthcare for the last 5 or 6 decades, new-to-nature drugs, is cracking slowly but surely. Yesterday, a book by David Evans dropped into our office. It describes the 500 studies that show the toxic side effects of one of the drug companies’ biggest money spinners, statins. Yes, side effects include muscle disease, kidney disease, liver disease, pancreatitis, multi-organ failure and even premature death. Yet statins are still prescribed routinely for ‘high cholesterol’ despite a plethora of evidence that it’s not the cholesterol itself that causes us harm.
Without public and political pressure, we would have to wait a lifetime to see the practice of mainstream healthcare changing in ways that take full account of the latest developments and science in natural and sustainable health. There just isn’t the time, given the precarious state of our physical and mental health, and of the natural resources on which we depend.
In this last eAlert of 2015, we’ve provided you with an end-of-year round up (Ed. which is entirely Monsanto-free!) that pulls together some of the year’s main highlights. We also offer our readers our customary natural health news alerts, in which the lead piece asks for your support for our collaborative project to identify toxins in foods and household products.
We can’t do what we do without your support. We must ask you to consider making an end-of-year donation to help us do even more in 2016—so please help us to help you and future generations. We are deeply grateful for any level of support.
In festive spirits and an abundance of naturally-acquired health,
